Born and raised in Brooklyn, Ny (Sunset Park-Bay Ridge) Maria was birthed to Theresa Chappell and Miguel Rosado. Both parents in the US Army. Maria, the oldest first born girl of 5 had no clue that singing would become her Pre-destined passion. Growing up on 52nd street, She fell in love with R&B/Soul/Hip-Hop music and at about the tender age of 14, this soul-Aquarian would write Mary J. Blidge lyrics to "Real Love" all over the walls of her then single mothers' second floor apartment. While her father (a NYC Lieutenant) fought the streets. Maria, was fighting for peace. Inner struggles as a teen and Raising her younger brother and sister, while mom was making ends meet...Maria took on the resposibility of caring for her siblings. She didn't really have a chance to enjoy being a child but still remained grateful for all the experiences in her life. Today, she realizes that after her mother becoming ill from 5 consecutive strokes, losing her older brother then 3 months later nephew of age 18 to a car accident, a yr later nephew of age 19 to suicide, Great aunt Magnolia and then Father...She's ready to give her testimony. Her project, "Brooklyn to the Bay", was made to express what she feels is the beginning of fullfilling her purpose and to finally put HERSELF first for a change. Take a journey with her as she expresses some of the pain, happiness and love Vs. Sexuality. This emotional rollercoaster starts from 52nd street and brings you straight to 19th Bay in Ocean View, where she discovered her singing ability! Ease into these experiences with Maria for your listening and enlightening pleasures. Enjoy the Destined Approach to "Brooklyn to the Bay".
